Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand

the brief

Our brief was to develop a new space to foster connection throughout the organisation and provide a front-of-house space welcoming teachers from all over NZ.  The selection of 7 Waterloo Quay for the new office provides a light-filled space so different from their existing space across multiple floors with poor access to natural light.

the concept

Working with Māori advisors we wanted to design the front of the house to provide suitable public space that supported the concept of Manaakitanga. These shared spaces where many different groups of people would come together were central to the design.

.

what we did

Working closely with the in-house graphic designer we brought the new visual concept to life in the front of house areas. Korowhai panels and feature acoustic panels were placed throughout the staff workspace to connect back to the front of house concepts.

the results

We have created an open and collaborative office space with a front of house journey that illustrates the work that TCANZ has been focused on
