TelstraClear were looking to move from the wharves into Wellington CBD and implement a disciplined office accommodation standard throughout the organization. In this project we worked closely with the Telstra team from Australia and with the TelstraClear team from Auckland and Wellington.
We helped TelstraClear to identify a suitable building, but unfortunately the Christchurch earthquake occurred just as the lease was about to be signed. This caused both the Landlord and TelstraClear to re-evaluate the proposed new building and a strengthening solution was incorporated into the base build refurbishment adding considerable time pressure to the project.
Working with TelstraClear both locally and in Australia we successfully implemented a new office standard throughout the nine new floors of office space spread over 6,500m2. We incorporated special features including a living wall of plants, a new open internal stairs linking two floors together to improve office communication, new computer rooms and a sophisticated tele-presence room.
As the project concluded TelstraClear was bought by Vodafone, resulting in 40 additional staff needing to be housed as a result of the integration. The flexible office solution we provided enabled the staff to be accommodated with minimal changes to the office fitout – proving the worth of the standardised flexible office solution.
