the briefAlongside Kiwi Property and SOS Property Services we have redeveloped large areas of the Majestic Centre to include a new headoffice space for Cigna International. the challengesCigna had made a decision to co-locate their head office team and call centre into the same location. The Level 1 retail space at the Majestic Centre had not proved to be a very successful retail space. By stripping out the under utilised shops and cutting windows into the terrasso exterior on the Willis Street side, we were able to let the street views and natural light come into the first floor space. An under utilised public garden area on Level 3 was taken as part of the tenancy, creating a large breakout space set in a conservatory setting.

We worked with Cigna International and the landlords of the Majestic Centre (Kiwi Property) to redevelop an old food court and public space for the the call centre, we developed a unique staff cafe in a former atrium space, and fitted out a tower floor for the head office functions. Because we designed both the landlord and tenant elements of the project together, we achieved cost savings which were shared by both parties.
In the Majestic Centre we've transformed previously unusable parts of this office tower into fully leased income-earning spaces. By opening up granite walls and enabling light to flood in, we've expanded the ground floor retail space, created new state-of-the-art shop fronts and installed a new over-pavement verandah. We have relocated the Japanese Embassy and expanded Cigna International presence on Level 1.
