Formerly the home to AXA and National Mutual, 80 The Terrace was a building that had not been updated for many years. The location at the heart of The Terrace made it easy for the building owner, Precinct Properties, to decide to invest in this building with an extensive upgrade. Our brief was to create a light open flexible base build refurbishment suitable for the government and corporate clients who want to be near the centre of government.
Precinct Properties are leading the way in earthquake strengthening to upgrade their portfolio to a high level of compliance. 80 The Terrace is one of the first buildings to put the engineering design into practice. Minor structural improvements have been made on some floors and the staircase is being strengthened. Because 80 The Terrace was vacated by a major tenant, the building owner is investing right now to improve all aspects of this building.
